Why Supervision Matters in Homeopathy
Why Supervision Matters in Homeopathy
Training as a homeopath is an exciting journey, but it also comes with responsibility. Taking cases, managing uncertainty, and building confidence in practice can sometimes feel overwhelming. This is why supervision is such an important part of student life.
Supervision is about reflection, growth, and support.
What is Supervision?
Supervision is a space for reflection, guidance, and growth. It’s not about being told what to do, but about having someone alongside you who can help you think clearly about your cases, your practice, and your development.
Students are required to complete a certain number of hours of supervision as part of their training. Beyond fulfilling a course requirement, supervision gives you the chance to explore your cases in depth, ask questions, and grow in confidence as a developing practitioner.
Why It Matters
Having a supervisor means you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Supervision offers:
Confidence: talking through cases helps you feel more grounded in your decisions.
Support: a place to share challenges and celebrate successes.
Professional growth: reflection strengthens your practice, now and for the future.
My Approach
I see supervision as a person-centred and collaborative process. As well as working in private practice for over twenty years, I’m also part of the teaching team at the Centre for Homeopathic Education (CHE). There, I take student clinics and support casework, and I also mark case assignments. Many of my supervision students come from CHE, and often we’ve already met in the clinic setting. Supervision can then feel like a natural next step — continuing the support as you move forward in your studies.
Alongside students, I also work with newly qualified homeopaths who value having a mentor in the first years of practice. Whatever stage you are at, my aim is to listen, encourage, and offer constructive guidance, while supporting you in developing your own style and confidence as a practitioner.
A safe space allows learning and reflection to settle in.
How to Get Started
I offer single 60 or 90 minute supervision sessions, as well as a 10-session 60 minute session package, depending on what works best for you. Sessions are held online and can be booked directly.
Closing Reflection
Supervision is a vital part of training, but it can also become an ongoing support as you continue to grow into practice. It helps us stay reflective, grounded, and connected as practitioners.
If you’re a student or newly qualified homeopath and would like to explore supervision, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
Supervision helps you find your own course with guidance alongside.
